South Africa v Canada Davis Cup play-off tie to be held in Canada

London, May 14, 2012: The ITF today announced that the Davis Cup Committee has approved a request by the South African Tennis Association to stage their 2012 Davis Cup by BNP Paribas World Group play-off tie against Canada in Canada. South Africa was awarded choice of ground, but asked to play in Canada for financial reasons. Tennis Canada has agreed to host the tie on 14-16 September, with the venue to be announced in due course.

The eight World Group play-off ties will be held alongside the two World Group semifinals that see defending champions Spain at home to USA, and Argentina hosting Czech Republic.
