SAFEJAWZ to launch Golden Mouthguard award at 2017 IMMAF World Championships

London, Oct 25, 2017: Exclusive IMMAF Mouthguard provider, SAFEJAWZ, is to present the first Golden Mouthguard Award at the 2017 IMMAF World Championships medals ceremony in Bahrain to one deserving competitor. The amateur MMA world championships play out at the Khalifa Sports City Arena in Manama from 12- 18 November, as part of BRAVE International Combat Week.

The SAFEJAWZ GOLDEN MOUTHGUARD AWARD will be presented to the IMMAF athlete who is voted as stand-out in their commitment to the sport and their embodiment of the good sporting values of amateur MMA.

National team leaders will have the opportunity to recommend one of their team prior to the Championships. Select representatives including world renowned MMA referee, Marc Goddard, and reps from SAFEJAWZ and the IMMAF board will then review the recommendations to create a short list of 10 names that will be put to public vote via social media during competition week. The IMMAF President will make the final decision from the 2 competitors that win the public vote.

SAFEJAWZ will also be providing a FREE custom fit, mouthguard service as a gift to all IMMAF athletes participating in the World Championships, with bespoke mouthguards posted out to athletes after the competition. To see that IMMAF participants are also well catered for during the 2017 IMMAF World Championships, SAFEJAWZ will be providing boil-and-bites for use across the week.

SAFEJAWZ Director, George Dyer, said: “We are always blown away by the sportsmanship and dedication displayed at IMMAF events and the amateur fighters truly are a credit to the sport. This award is intended to recognize such commitment and to further promote those values within amateur MMA.”

IMMAF President Kerrith Brown said:
“I look forward to presenting the very first SAFEJAWZ golden mouthguard trophy. Besides celebrating excellence in sport, IMMAF equally heralds dedication and good sportsmanship, the Olympic values of ‘respect’ and ‘friendship’ being core to who we are.” —- IMMAF
