UNOSDP YOUTH LEADERSHIP CAMP 2012

UNOSDP Media Advisory Dec 20, 2011: The 2012 UNOSDP Youth Leadership Camp (YLC) is a 10-day from 9-19 January 2012, will be held at Aspire Dome, Doha, Qatar, gathering of 30 participants (from Sub-Saharan Africa and the Palestinian Territory) aimed at empowering them with practical leadership training and best practice examples from leading Sport for Development and Peace (SDP) experts.

These 18 young women and 12 young men, aged 18-25, are currently working at a variety of grassroots SDP projects in their respective impoverished communities. In addition, a small group of youth from the Qatari based organization Reach Out to Asia (ROTA) will take part in the youth camp. Held under the auspices of: the Special Adviser to the United Nations Secretary-General on Sport for Development and Peace, Mr. Wilfried Lemke.

Which will be Organized by the UN Office on Sport for Development and Peace (UNOSDP), in collaboration with the NGO Right To Play and the Aspire Academy for Sports Excellence. Other knowledge partners include: the Premier League, the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), the International Paralympic Committee and Liverpool Football Club.
