Toshiba Medical confirmed as partner of World Rugby

By Amelia Fisher-Starzynski, Dublin, Ireland: 6 October, 2016: World Rugby is delighted to announce Toshiba Medical as an Event Partner of the World Rugby Conference and Exhibition 2016 (ConfEx).

Through its exclusive partnership, Toshiba Medical will contribute to and support the World Rugby Medical Commission Conference. The World Rugby Medical Commission Conference provides an opportunity for rugby’s leading physicians, independent medical experts and World Rugby member unions to debate and discuss the latest medical developments and help drive player welfare best practice.

The two-day conference, which runs alongside ConfEx 2016 on 14-15 November at the Hilton London Metropole, will focus on strategies that further aid injury prevention while identifying areas of collaboration and blended learning in order to drive continued improvements to the safety of the game.

Through its innovative and advanced medical products and solutions Toshiba Medical aims to provide sports medical professionals with solutions that support their efforts and contribute to the ongoing health and wellbeing of their athletes.

World Rugby Chief Executive Brett Gosper said: “To have a globally-recognised company like Toshiba Medical involved is fantastic, and I would like to thank them for their support of this year’s World Rugby ConfEx. Our Medical Commission Conference is an invaluable forum that drives thinking around player welfare and medical advancements, while sharing and considering information from the wider sporting and medical environment and we welcome Toshiba Medical’s input to the discussion.”

Toshiba Medical Systems UK Managing Director Mark Hitchman said: “We’re delighted to begin this partnership with the 2016 World Rugby ConfEx. The event provides a platform for Toshiba Medical to engage with medical experts from national rugby unions and explain how our technology, knowledge and experience can support the health and wellbeing of rugby players around the world.

“Our aim is to support clubs, players and coaches to reach new standards in medical performance and injury prevention. With this in mind, we’re particularly excited to join those at the forefront of rugby and discuss medical best practice through World Rugby ConfEx and the World Rugby Medical Commission Conference.”
