Karachi – Pakistan, July 21, 2013: Shangara, 29 Bowlers participated in Virtual Axis Ramadan Bowling Tournament 2013 organized by Sindh Tenpin Bowling Association (STBA) and Virtual Axis in collaboration during the holy month of Ramadan, which remained eventful on 19th July – 9 Ramadan from 11 pm to Sehri timing in Royal Rodale club. The Ramadan Tournament received much appreciation among the players which resulted in good participation in Open, Armature & Doubles Event. The Tournament was well appreciated by the society for bring joyful moments in this holy occasion.
OPEN SINGLES: Robert Shangara conquered the Singles Title with their enthralling performance secure 1st position with average of 218 and received 5,000 rupees; while Aleem Agha got 2nd position with 182 average and received 3,000 rupees. The 3rd Position was secured by Shabbir laskerwala with 172 average and received 2,000 rupees.
GRADED (AMATEUR): Muhammad Fazil with stunning performance secured 1st position with the score of 181 pts, received PKR3,000 cash award, While Abid Ahmed was the Runners-up (166 pts), received 2,000 Rupees cash, whereas Irfan Sheikh secured 3rd position (165 pts) and he was awarded Rs 1,500 cash.
DOUBLES TEAM: After the aggressive game play Robert Shangara & Ali Raza secured 1st position with total combined score 1007; while Waleed Mukhtar & Muhammad Fazil got 2nd position with 1006 total combined pins dropped. The 3rd Position was secured by Aleem Agha & Muhammaf Rizwan with 954 total combined pins dropped
While talking to Media Romis Ali, General Secretary of STBA said “Ramadan is a month of blessing, and STBA played its part to bring exciting event for the society to share the joy. We will try to bring more thematic event for most of the segment of the society and maintain our Serving Image as always”
He said Association is taken serious steps to promote bowling in Sindh. Time is not far away when we truly enlighten the name of our country across the world. He said Government should take keen interest to promote bowling in Sindh and comes forward to establish bowling alleys in every District of Sindh.
Mr Khwaja Ahmed , CEO of Virtual Axis(also a keen bowler) honour the award ceremony with his presence accompanied by Mr. Aleem Agha, Sr. Vice President of STBA, Romis Ali- General Secretary of STBA and Mr Asghar Rangoonwala CEO of Royal Rodale Club(also a keen bowler)supported this event graciously ,distributed cash Award to winning participants.
Mr. Aleem Agha concluded the ceremony by giving a note of thank to the participants, Sponsor, Host Royal Rodale and media for their dedicated support which resulted in the success of the event. Aleem Said “The STBA Virtual Axis Ramadan Bowling Tournament 2013 is a fantastic way to celebrate the sport and we’re really looking forward to seeing some great talent from upcoming bowlers with variety of backgrounds and abilities in taking part.” The event ended with a delightful Sehri for the players.
Following this year’s tournament, Sindh Tenpin Bowling Association with collaboration of Virtual Axis is planning to host a series of championships in the 2013/2014 season. The next event is to be the Jashan Azadi Inter-media Bowling Tournament, to take place in August 2013.
