GCC women’s sports meeting in Kuwait

Manama, Bahrain, Oct 3, 2013: Bahrain Olympic Committee member and Women’s Sports Committee Chairwoman Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa will attend the GCC Women’s Sports Organising Committee in Kuwait on Friday, October 4. The meeting will be held on the sidelines of the 1st GCC Women’s Handball Championship, which runs from October 3-8.

Several issues relevant to GCC women’s sports will be discussed, including the 16th report of the GCC Women’s Sports Organising Committee, as well as matters related to the GCC Women’s Handball Championship and other upcoming events.

Following the meeting, Shaikha Hayat will travel to Sharjah, UAE, to head the first meeting of the Supervising and Follow-up Committee of the 2nd Arab Women’s Games, which will be hosted in Sharjah in 2014. These games will feature seven sporting events: athletics, shooting, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, fencing and archery. —- OCA
