Basle, Feb 18, 2014: As announced on the fringes of the Women’s World Championship in Serbia, the International Handball Federation has a new TV rights partner, beINSports, an affiliate of Al Jazeera.
On Thursday, 20 February at 15:00 local time, the International Handball Federation takes the opportunity of the official signing of the contract at the IHF Head Office in Basle (Peter-Merian-Strasse 23) to invite you to a media conference regarding the new TV rights contract.
The International Handball Federation will be represented by its President Dr Hassan Moustafa, 1st Vice-President Miguel Roca Mas and Treasurer Sandi Sola. Al Jazeera is represented by key personnel of their affiliate beINSports, which will be the official IHF TV rights partner in the future. beInSports is a global network of sports channels jointly owned and operated by Qatar Sports Investments (an affiliate of Al Jazeera Media Network).
The new TV rights contract is valid for the next two Men’s and Women’s World Championships in 2015 (Qatar and Denmark) and 2017 (France and Germany) and also includes the TV production for the above-mentioned events.
