KPT Issues Appointment Letters to114 Sportsmen

Karachi-Pakistan, May 25, 2012: The Chairman Karachi Port Trust Muhammad Aslam Hayat awarded appointment letters to 114 sportsmen to upgrade their employment cadre permanent in KPT. The Chairman Aslam Hayat awarded appointment to six national colour players representing cricket snooker and football at national levels during a ceremony held at KPT Head Office.

The players are Khurram Hussain Agha, Adeel Malik, Junaid Qadir, Muhammad Hussain, Ahmed Iqbal and Behram Khan. Of these the players Khurram Hussain Agha, Adeel Malik, Junaid Qadir, Muhammad Hussain and Behram Khan were made Traffic Supervisors in KPT.

These 114 sportsmen got daily wages/temporary employment in KPT in 1993 and after 19 years of hard struggle their efforts were rewarded by KPT management in the shape of issuance of permanent letters of appointment to them under the instructions of Minister for Ports and Shipping Senator Babar Khan Ghauri.

These players – 38 footballers, 18 boxers, 29 cricketers, 8 hockey, 4 badminton and others have represented KPT at various levels have received letters from Rear Admiral Azhar Hayat, the KPT General Manager Operations, during an august ceremony. Some of them have represented KPT at national and international circuits.
