International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Media Scholarship Opportunity

Lausanne, Switzerland Jan 10, 2012: ITTF Media Scholarship Opportunity, The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) is pleased to offer three (3) scholarships for journalists to attend the LIEBHERR 2012 World Team Table Tennis Championships in Dortmund, Germany from Sunday 25th March to Sunday 1st April 2012. The ITTF wishes to invite young journalists to increase their knowledge about table tennis and the International Table Tennis Federation.

This year the scholarships will also have a social media dimension to align the opportunity to the ever-changing face of media and tournament reporting. Specifically using twitter to allow people to follow their reporting, views, insights and experiences throughout the tournament. Each candidate will have full access to all media facilities and players which will provide an exceptional experience for the selected candidates.

Candidates

Journalists working for newspapers, magazines, sports magazines, radio and television broadcasters may apply for this Scholarship. Persons working for sports’ associations and their magazines will not be eligible.

A candidate must not be older than 35 years and should have at least three (3) years working experience in sports journalism. Furthermore good knowledge of English is required.

Working Conditions and Contents

The ITTF offers free board and accommodation on site in an official hotel of the World Team Table Tennis Championships in Dortmund, as well as access to the media facilities.

It is the premier annual event in the ITTF calendar. The airfare, all leisure activities, as well as visa application remain, the candidate’s responsibility.

Successful candidates will be given the chance to meet the ITTF Executive Committee, staff and important people from the world of table tennis as well as players.

Choice

The ITTF reserves the right to choose freely from the applications and no correspondence will be entered into relating to the selection process. The selection will be made by the chair of the ITTF Media Committee whose decision is final. At least one (1) scholarship will be offered to a female journalist.

Deadline

Applications by email should be sent to the ITTF office in Lausanne before Tuesday 1st February 2012. No late applications will be considered.
