2013 ITTF Star Awards Now Driven by GAC Motor

Dubai, Jan 8, 2014: International Table Tennis Federation’s long-term partner GAC Group’s subsidiary company GAC Motor has come on board as the Title Sponsor of the 2013 ITTF Star Awards.

The inaugural annual awards night, which is being held on 11 January 2014 at Raffles Hotel in Dubai, will now be known as the 2013 ITTF Star Awards driven by GAC Motor.

Wu Song, Director and General Manager of GAC Motor stated: “GAC Motor is excited to lend our support to hosting a successful inaugural ITTF Star Awards, and we are proud to recognise the efforts of these world-class athletes.”

GAC Motor’s parent company GAC Group recently signed an extension to their title sponsorship of the ITTF World Tour, which now runs until the end of 2015. The 2013 ITTF Star Awards driven by GAC Motor will take part during the showpiece event of the GAC Group World Tour, the 1 million dollars World Tour Grand Finals held from 9 to 12 January 2014.

“Table Tennis has the 2nd highest participation in the world, and is one of the most popular global sport. GAC Motor, through supporting the ITTF World Tour and title-sponsoring the ITTF Star Awards, is proud to showcase to the world the Chinese automobile industry’s ability in creating world-class brands,” added Mr Wu Song.

The inaugural ITTF Star Awards driven by GAC Motor, which awards the players performances from 2013, will feature seven awards, including three chosen by the fans. All the proceeds from the night goes to ITTF’s corporate social responsibility program Dream Building that raises money for Para Table Tennis, Development and Junior Table Tennis initiatives. As part of the GAC Motor deal, we will announce an additional special award during the night.
