USA Sitting Volleyball Wins Parapan American Zonal Championships

IPC News: USA Sitting Volleyball team took home the gold medal at the Parapan American Zonal Championships last weekend after beating Brazil in three sets (25-13, 25-12, 25-15) in the final match in San Paulo, Brazil. While the USA had already qualified for the London 2012 Paralympic Games, it went undefeated in San Paulo with a victory over Canada and two victories over both Brazil and Colombia. Katie Holloway was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament after leading her squad with 17 points, 12 kills, three aces and two blocks for the Americans.

Although Brazil did not win the tournament, it did qualify for London 2012 after defeating Canada in the semi-finals. All of the squads will now participate in the Parapan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico, from 12-20 November.
