IJF is introducing two new commissions

Lausanne, Nov 19, 2013: A Development Commission and Gender Equity Commission will be established with a dedicated taskforce of experts. The commissions will be committed to empowering national federations with resources and new methods of engagement while upholding the values and traditions of judo. The Developement Commission will particularly be in charge of coordinating the IJF development activities around the world, on the five continents, while the Gender Equity Commission will focus on tools to favorise an equal access to sport for men and women, without any kind of discrimination.

The experts will work in unison with existing commissions in the areas of Sport, Media, Medical, Judo for Peace, Judo for Children, Education and Coaching, Athletes, DPM, Military and Police Ethics, Kata, Masters and Refereeing.

Mikhail Cherkasov – Vice President of the Russian Judo Federation

Eduard Doandes – Former President of the Romanian Judo Federation

Estony Hattingh – President of the Botswana Judo Federation and African Judo Union Communications Director

Nicolas Messner – IJF Media and Communications Director and IJF Judo for Peace Commission

Michel Huet – IJF Education Commission and Assistant to the IJF General Secretary

Larisa Kiss – Director of the IJF Presidential Office

Gender Equity Commission

Ingrid Berghmans – Six-time world champion and 2013 IJF Hall of Fame inductee

Jean-Luc Rouge – IJF General Secretary and 2013 IJF Hall of Fame inductee

Estony Hattingh – President of the Botswana Judo Federation and African Judo Union Communications Director

Lisa Allan – IJF Competition Manager and IJF Sports Commission

Jacqueline de Quattro – Minister of Defense and Environment of the Canton de Vaux. —- IJF
