Unveiling of Official Mascot marks key milestone in lead-up to FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Papua New Guinea 2016

Port Moresby, June 11, 2016: The Official Mascot of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup 2016 was launched and presented to the public today in front of thousands of football fans at the Sir John Guise Stadium in Port Moresby.

The chosen mascot is a bird of paradise – a symbolic animal that is unique to Papua New Guinea – and is nicknamed “Susa”.

Susa is expected to embark on a tour of the provinces aimed at promoting the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup 2016 which will be held in Port Moresby from 13 November to 3 December. —- FIFA
