Paris 2024 bid campaign boosted with four new corporate sponsors

By Rob Fawdon: Paris, France, Feb 9, 2016: The Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games Bid was boosted today with the announcement that four new corporate partners have signed up as sponsors of the French capital city’s campaign, each contributing approximately €2m to the Paris 2024 bid budget.

The new sponsors are part of Paris 2024’s multi-million Euro partnership strategy that is making a significant contribution to the campaign’s bid budget and helping to enhance public and corporate engagement with the bid.

The latest Paris 2024 sponsors are:

Caisse des Dépôts Group [a public group serving growth, employment and the economic and territorial development of the country]
Elior Group [a global contract and catering service provider]
JCDecaux [the number one outdoor advertising company worldwide]
RATP [a major transport operator that manages the Paris subway, bus and tram lines]

This announcement follows the signing of Paris 2024’s first bid sponsor in January, La Française des Jeux, and each partner will have ownership of a particular theme that it will activate around the country to further enhance its relationship with the bid and promote Olympism across the country.

As part of its sponsorship, the Caisse des Dépôts Group will develop innovative ideas for Paris 2024’s Olympic and Paralympic Village and showcase its expertise in developing Smart Cities. Furthermore, JCDecaux’s partnership will focus on smart, connected and sustainable services to promote a new era of connected city.

Elior Group will activate around sport, nutrition and well-being , whilst RATP will communicate messages about sustainable mobility. RATP has a long-term programme that will see Paris become the first large city in the world to have a bus fleet that is run with 100 per cent clean energy. Should Paris become the Host City of the Games in 2024, RATP will implement the city’s plan to ensure all competition venues are accessible via public transport.

Etienne Thobois, Chief Executive of the Paris 2024 Bid Committee, said:

“We are very pleased to welcome our new partners who will all make a valuable contribution to our 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games bid campaign.

“The support of Caisse des Dépôts Group, Elior Group, JCDecaux, and RATP will help to communicate important messages around sport, public health and well-being, helping citizens being better connected through new technology and how sustainability will be at the heart of our Olympic project – showcasing Paris as a Smart City that is ready to host the Games for the modern, digital era.

“We now look forward to working with our partners to spread the special message of Olympism across our city and nation so the public can really take part and engage with our campaign to become the Olympic Host City in 2024.”

Further Paris 2024 sponsorship announcements will be made in the coming weeks and months.
