OCA stresses the importance of communication

Kuwait: MAR 6, 2014: Bahrain Olympic Committee’s acting general secretary, Abdulrahman Askar, visited the new Olympic Council of Asia HQ building in Kuwait City during his short trip for the GCC NOCs Presidents’ Executive Office meetings. During his visit, Askar met the Director of the OCA’s Asian Games department, Haider Farman, and discussed several subjects of mutual interest. The most important of these was Bahrain’s hosting of the Olympic Solidarity/OCA Regional Forum for West, Central and South Asian NOCs on May 7 and 8.

The two parties also reviewed the regulations of the OCA as well as holding talks on the possibility of forming a sports dispute settlement committee and benefiting from the OCA’s expertise in this regard.

Askar affirmed the keenness of the BOC to strengthen ties with the OCA in order to develop the Olympic sports movement in Bahrain on solid foundations.

Askar also praised the significant role of the OCA President, HE Sheikh Ahmad Al Fahad Al Sabah, in the rise of Asian sport, and stressed that Bahrain was fully supportive of and involved in the various courses and programmes offered by the OCA.

Haider Farman, expressed his confidence in the fruitful cooperation between the OCA and BOC, and said that a strong communication network between the OCA and its 45 NOCs was a key in developing the Olympic sports movement in a systematic way. —- OCA
