Sochi 2014 IPC Paralympic Winter Games

Germany, Mar 12, 2013: The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has opened the media accreditation application process for non-rights holding broadcasters interested in attending the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games.

Interested broadcast organisations, who have not acquired the broadcasting rights to the Sochi 2014 Winter Paralympics, can apply via the IPC’s website at www.paralympic.org/events until 31 March 2013. After this deadline, the IPC will evaluate all applications before moving to the next step of the accreditation process.

As in previous Paralympic Games, written press and photographers will apply for media accreditation via their respective National Paralympic Committee (NPC). In order to ensure a successful and high-quality media coverage of the Paralympic Games, the NPCs are responsible for ensuring and confirming that the organisations and individuals being accredited are genuine recognised media professionals. Contact information for all NPCs can be found here: http://www.paralympic.org/NPCs/Africa

Craig Spence, IPC Media & Communications Director, said: “I would like to encourage media worldwide to come to Sochi and report on the Paralympic Winter Games in 2014.

“The 2013 IPC Alpine Skiing World Championships in La Molina and the 2013 IPC Nordic Skiing World Championships in Solleftea have recently shown impressive performances by our athletes.

“We have also seen some new young talent emerging who have won medals in La Molina and Solleftea and I am sure they will continue to impress the world in Sochi in one year’s time.”
