IYOGOC, Innsbruck, Austria Jan 06, 2012: Innsbruck 2012 tickets, Following the last of the promotion days, during which members of the public had the chance to secure tickets via the online web shop, the Organising Committee of the Innsbruck 2012 Winter Youth Olympic Games has announced that 80% of the tickets available for the Games have already been distributed. “Of the 80,000 tickets available, 64,000 have gone.
I think that just goes to show the level of interest in the 1st Winter Youth Olympic Games, both here in Austria and abroad,” explained Innsbruck 2012 CEO Peter Bayer.
Tickets for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies were among the first to be snapped up by fans via the web shop. A 15,000-strong crowd will pack Bergisel Stadium for the Opening Ceremony on 13 January to witness Innsbruck become the first city in the world to welcome the Olympic Family for a third time. The Closing Ceremony in Maria-Theresien-Straße will welcome 4,000 spectators on 22 January.
To the delight of all Innsbruck 2012 fans, events held in the open-air Competition Venues – Patscherkofel, Olympic Sliding Centre Innsbruck, Seefeld and Kühtai – will be open to the public and not require a ticket.
All remaining tickets will be available between 9 January 2012 and the end of the Games on a first-come, first-served basis via two channels:
• Free of charge via the Venue Information Booth on Medals Plaza, at the northern end of Maria-Theresien-Straße. Opening hours: 10:00 –18:00.
• Via the online web shop at www.innsbruck2012.com/en/tickets.
Fans who have secured tickets but who can unfortunately no longer use them can still share in the Olympic spirit by returning their tickets to each Venue Information Booth.
