First time in 71 year history of Pakistan, AIPS Asia Youth Reporters Training Workshop begins in Karachi

By Sports Reporter, Karachi, 5 Nov 2018: A three day first ever International Sports Press Association AIPS Asia Youth Reporters Training Workshop commenced here at a local hotel yesterday.

The event were organised by Sports Journalists Association of Sindh (SJAS) in collaboration with AIPS Asia in the 71 years of Pakistan, where 7 young sports journalists from Afghanistan, Iran and Nepal are participating, while journalists from Malaysia and Saudi Arabia are likely to join tomorrow.

Young sports journalists from Islamabad, Peshawar, Quetta and FATA are also attending the event.

Former Minister for Sports and Patron SJAS, Dr Syed Junaid Ali Shah while welcoming the all the participants and said that the sports is a main part of our society and the sports journalists can play a positive role to establish that Pakistan is a safe country for sports lover as well as sportsmen.

He also praised SJAS for arranging the workshop and hailed their services.

Amjad Aziz Malik, Secretary General AIPS ASIA and President of Pakistan Sports Writers Federation (PSWF) and secretary AIPS (Asia) warmly welcomed all the participants/Youth Reporters Training Workshop.

This is a historic day of Pakistan. These kinds of workshops would help young journalists to polish their skills.

He said that such training program organizing on daily basis in European countries.

Further said that I am really thankful to the entire SJAS team for organizing a great event here.

He told that the participants that he could have arranged that workshop in Peshawar his home town but I enjoy working with SJAS.

SJAS played a vital role in the field of sports. I think no other association can beat SJAS.

“The youngsters gathered here for nourishment of their journalistic skills,” Amjad added.

Chief Guest, Senior Sindh Minister, Nasir Hussain Shah said on the occasion that there is a great event in the history of Pakistan.

I congratulate SJAS and Amjad Aziz Malik for their efforts.

Minister said that we will provide every facility to foreign journalist and tell foreigner must to visit interior Sindh.

Nasir Hussain Shah assured the media persons present on the occasion that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) will provide all kind of support to journalists’ community/Youth Reporters Training Workshop.

“We are always available for journalists financially and trying to solve their problems,” added Nasir Hussain Shah. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister hailed SJAS services and appreciated the entire association for organizing this event.

Sindh Minister, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah lauded the services of Amjad Aziz Malik in the field of sports and organizing various events outlined that they made their country proud globally.

Senior journalists, Iqbal Jamil, Mehmood Sham, Anisuddin Khan, Zubair Nazeer Khan, Kamal Siddique, Atiq-ur-Rehman and Patron SJAS Dr Farhan Essa addressing on the occasion said that the new generation from this field may benefit from such seminars and training.

They shared their experience of making news and how to make headline healthier.

Later, Minister Nasir Hussain Shah presented souvenir to senior journalists Mehmood Sham, Anisuddin Khan, Iqbal Jamil, Amjad Aziz Malik, Atiq-ur-Rehman, Secretary Sports Sindh, Haroon Ahmed Khan, Patrons SJAS Farhan Essa and Junaid Ali Shah.

Dr Junaid Ali Shah and Farhan Essa presented souvenir to Minister, Nasir Hussain Shah.

The visiting journalists visited mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam, DHA Golf Club Marina club for boating and have a dinner on it and National Stadium by SJAS organizing committee.
