Winter World Masters Games Innsbruck 2020

Jan 23, 2019: In less than a year, the Winter World Masters Games (WWMG) are guests in Tyrol (World Masters Games Innsbruck).

The games are the largest winter sports festival for over 30 years. All involved winter sports organizers call enthusiastic amateur athletes to participate.

A first launch of this event fell this day in the venerable giant hall of Innsbruck’s Hofburg.

The Winter World Masters Games (WWMG) is the world’s largest winter sports festival for over 30s.

More than 3,000 athletes will be traveling to the Tyrol in January 2020 to compete in 12 sports true to the Olympic values of achievement, friendship and respect.

Spectacular alpine mountain scenery, honest hospitality, cultural highlights and state-of-the-art sports facilities are the further ingredients for this unique winter sports festival.

Whether professional or avid hobby athlete, everyone can participate in the Winter World Masters Games. Age is the only criterion for participation. The minimum age varies depending on the sport. There is no limit to the top.

True to the philosophy of “sport for all” or “sport for life”, the International Masters Games Association (IMGA), recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), emphasizes the importance of movement in every age group.

Since 1985, the year when the first World Masters Games (WMG) took place in Toronto, Canada, the number of athletes has made the Games the biggest multi-sport event in the world.

World Masters Games Innsbruck More than sport

Olympia World, Patscherkofel and Seefeld as sports centers

The Olympia World is the sporting and organizational center of this winter sports festival in the state capital.

Venue of the Nordic sports is Seefeld.
