Taishan Sports Industry Group and SportAccord sign agreement & Euronews and SportAccord sign historic partnership

Lausanne, Nov 3, 2014: SportAccord and Taishan Sports Industry Group of China signed into agreement a 4-year long commercial partnership at the Beau-Rivage Palace in Lausanne. The agreement was signed between SportAccord President, Marius L. Vizer; SportAccord Director General, Vlad Marinescu; Taishan Sports Industry Group Chairman, Bian Zhi Liang and Taishan Sports Industry Group Executive Director, Cui Gang.

According to the terms of the agreement, Taishan Sports Industry Group will provide all sports equipment and supplies, including surfaces, to SportAccord for the duration of the contract.

Expressing his pleasure over the historic agreement, Mr. Vizer said, “The expertise of Taishan Sports Industry Group will bring great value to all SportAccord events and enable SportAccord to reach out to a wider cross-section of society across the world.”

Taishan Sports Industry Group was the official supplier of equipment for the 2008 Beijing Olympics and Paralympics, amongst many other international events. Recognising the unprecedented potential of the deal, Mr. Liang said, “This agreement will provide great synergy between SportAccord and Taishan Sports Industry Group. Being the official suppliers of equipment and surfaces of all SportAccord events, we will be able to ensure uniformity across sports and gain penetration into newer markets at the global level.”

Euronews and SportAccord sign historic partnership

Lausanne, November 3rd, 2014 – Euronews and SportAccord signed a historic collaboration for sports programming, which will enable the Global broadcaster and the Union of all 92 International Sports Federations to establish a new sports programme. The agreement was signed today between Michael Peters, CEO of Euronews group and Marius Vizer, President of SportAccord, at the annual International Forum for international sports federations in Lausanne.

The partnership shall revolutionize the global news coverage of sports. Euronews, a multi-cultural news channel broadcasting in 13 languages will distribute original sports news to an upmarket audience with a worldwide geographical spread.

Under the agreement, Euronews will, amongst others, run a weekly sports-programme « Sports United » starting from January 2015, as well as several special magazine shows, focusing on specific sport disciplines. Euronews viewers will also have access to major national, regional and international competitions, from football and gymnastics to beach volleyball and judo.

Each show will be produced in 13 languages and be broadcast to over 420 million households in 156 countries, as well as on digital media platforms.

« Sports United », a dynamic sports programme covering the entire scope of sports disciplines and competitions worldwide will air in 13 languages on Euronews starting January 2015.
