Table Tennis: New TV Rights Holder in Turkey

Lausanne – Switzerland, Oct 31, 2012: TMS International, marketing partner of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), is proud to announce that their deal with Total Sports Asia (TSA) for TV rights has produced a new TV rights holder in Turkey, Sports TV.

“It is always good for table tennis when new territories is added to show World Title events in table tennis, says Anders Thunström, Managing Director of TMS International. “We have not done deals in Turkey before and we hope this can develop into a deal where Sports TV can show table tennis regularly on their network”

Since starting the partnership in 2011, TSA has increased the number of broadcasters of ITTF events, and hence expanded the exposure of ITTF events significantly. The current deal with TSA is until 2016.

About Sports TV

Sports TV was launched on July 1, 2010 with a challenge to create a ‘real’ sports channel and with the aim of bringing all branches of sports to TV screen. Important steps were taken within a short period of time in line with this target. At the beginning, the channel was on D-Smart digital platform. With other smaller platforms, at the moment Sports TV reaches 93% of Turkey with high-quality reach.
