Lausanne, Feb 20, 2013: The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) is happy to announce the latest addition to its Professional Staff, Matthew Pound who fills the position of Promotion Manager from 15 February 2013. At the ITTF, Matt will be in charge of all promotional, media and communication activities, with the main projects being:
• Promoting the ITTF, its events, programs and activities worldwide and to the main partner organizations in International Sports and in the Olympic family.
• Enhancing ITTF’s media communication channels and building relationship with key media outlets.
• Overseeing the development of ittf.com.
• Developing promotional guidelines to wider audiences.
• Streamlining and developing ITTF’s branding framework.
ITTF’s CEO Judit Farago stated: “ITTF is looking forward to Matt bringing his knowledge and enthusiasm to ITTF to ensure all our actions are as widely promoted as possible. In spite of his young age he already gained experience both in table tennis on national level and in Olympic sport on international level.”
Matt is returning to Table Tennis, after starting his Sports Management career at Table Tennis Australia (TTA) 7 years ago. After 3 years, developing the operations and media at TTA, Matthew moved to Monaco to take up a role at the Union International de Pentathlon Moderne (UIPM) as Communications Manager.
At the UIPM the 27 years old Australian was in charge of all traditional and social media, marketing, television and branding of the International Federation. Matthew’s main achievements at UIPM were redevelopment of Pentathlon.org reaching huge visitor rate raise; introduction of new branding and event logos; creation of the social media platforms; increase media attendance at major events; development of Live TV plan.
“I am looking forward to this big, exciting challenge”stated Matt. “Working at a big International Federation such as ITTF, was simply an offer too good to refuse. I believe with the strong team already in place here we can take the sport of Table Tennis to the next level” concluded Matt.
