Pakistan Sports Board Karachi center with colorful ceremony

Karachi – Pakistan, Mar 03, 2014: Sindh Olympic Association has informed that the Sindh Olympic Games 2014 started on today at Pakistan Sports Board Coaching Centre, Karachi. Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui, Commissioner Karachi was the chief guest in opening ceremony and declared the games open in very colourful atmosphere, the pigeon and balloon released in the air for celebrating the opening.

The gymnastic show, tug of war and taekwondo demonstration were also performed in opening ceremony. The two taekwondo girls’ players have tried to break the world record for kicking in one minute but they not completed successfully.

The four regional contingents namely Central, East, South & West and also technical officails contingent have march past. Ajaz ul Haque lead to Central Region, Sohail Anwar lead to East Region, Syed Zahid Ali Rizvi lead South Region and Akhtar KHan Durrani lead west region. The senior Athlete Farman Ali take the oath on behalf of players, officials & technical officials.

Usama Qadri, President, Sindh Olympic Association, Shah Jahan, Secretary, Pakistan Gymnastic Federation, Atta Muhammad Kakar, President, Baluchistan Olympic Association, Abdul Razak Arain, SVP/SOA, Javed Yousaf Qamar Chairman Org. Committee, Mudassar Arain, Secretary General SOA, Saleem Pracha, Org. Secretary and presidents and secretaries of different provincial sports associations and other dignitaries were also present in this occasion.

In opening ceremony the 100 meters race final for men & women also conducted. The results as are under:

100 meter Women:

1st Position Hiba Khursheed (South) Gold Medal

2nd Position Sadia Basheer (Central) Silver Medal

3rd Position Victoria (Central) Bronze Medal

100 meter Men:

1st Position Walheed Raza (Central) Gold Medal

2nd Position Raheem (Central) Silver Medal

3rd Position M. Yousaf (East) Bronze Medal
