Karachi-Pakistan, Jan 14: The PSO Carient Inter Firms Table Tennis Tournament 2012 will be from Jan 16, about twenty nine teams are representing from 21 departments in the PSO Carient Inter-firms table tennis tournament which will be held at the Islamia Club`s Majeed Khan Gymnasium, Karachi, from Jan 16-20.
Following Teams will take part in the event:
Pakistan State Oil (A & B), State Bank (A & B), State Life, Allied Engineering (A & B), Hino Pak Motors Co. (A & B), Glaxo Smith Kline, Sanufi Aventus (A & B), Popular Industries, Asia Petroleum, CDC Pakistan (A & B), AKD Securities, Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Ltd. (A & B), Sui Southern Gas Co, Mansha Brothers, Wi-Tribe (A & B), CDGK, PFL (A & B), Pak Suzuki, Trans Xpress and Orient Pakistan.
This was disclosed by the organizing secretary of the event and a former international, Arif Khan, said on Saturday. Outlining salient features at a press conference held at the venue he said the event will be played in men`s singles, women`s singles, men`s doubles and men`s team event.
According to him, all the individual events will be played on knockout basis. As far as men`s team event is concerned, the first stage will be played on round robin basis while the second will be contested on knockout.
Welcoming the sponsors, ArifK han who is an ITTF Level I course conductor and coach, expressed optimism that they will help promote the game on a bigger scale in future. Speaking on the occasion, Sheikh Mohammad Minhas, manager, brand management, of the firm, assured to extend support to the game in future also.
