Last weekend marked 50 days to go until the tournament kicks off in New Zealand. Prince William, representing the current champions England, handed over the trophy to the host country, represented by All Blacks captain Richie McCaw.

The IRB Junior World Championship has been the finishing school for just under 300 current international players since its inception in 2008. Last year saw England raise the trophy for the first time, with South Africa winners in 2012. New Zealand were the inaugural champions and subsequently won the tournament in 2009, 2010 and 2011.

On the above link, media can also apply for accreditation for the All Black Test Matches during the June window, as well as the Women’s Rugby Series in New Zealand. The deadline to apply for accreditation is May 16. —- IRB
