By Sports Reporter, Karachi, Jan 28, 2017: The CEDAR College wins the Inter School Indoor Rowing Championships 2018 for securing 74 points which was held at Karachi Boat Club. CAS School got second with 64 points and Karachi Grammar School stood third.
The championships was been organized by the Karachi Boat Club.
CEDAR College’s Manahil Ahmed in Girls U21 2000m make a new record with 8.9 minutes and earn gold medal, while Fatima Pasha from Karachi Grammar School and Mara Nadir of LYC got silver and bronze respectively.
Rabia Heerji from CEDAR College got 1st position for making a new record in the Gilrs U21 5000m.
In Girls U15, 500m Eman Joahr from CAS won gold, Aiman Khan second and CJM’s Javria Fahad was got bronze medal respectively. Wasil Shaikh of BVA won gold, Taha Dosa of CAS and Rehan from NXR got silver and bronze respectively.
In girls U17 500m medal winners were Batool form NXR, Ain Syed of CAS and Sheeza Saqib of Karachi Grammar School clinches gold, silver and bronze respectively.
Ammar Alana of CAS, Ayan Janjua of CDR and Hamza Chapra of Karachi Grammar School were the 1st, second and third respectively in the Boys U21, 500m.
Girls U21, 500m, Manahil Hussain of CJM, become champion while Maira Mustafa of CEDAR College got second and Ratti Aftab secured third position.
In Boys U15 2x500m CAS got gold, BVA got second and Karachi Grammar School stood third. Girls U15 2x500m TIA team secure gold medal by Aiman and Rameen, Manahil and Aneeqa from CJM and Zehra and Eman from BVA got silver and bronze respectively.
In Girls U21, 2×1000 event was been won by CEDAR college with outclass performance of Marium and Rabia from CDR and won gold, Marya and Farwa from LYC got silver while Marium and Sana was the winner of bronze medal.
The Boys U17 2×1000 event was been won by Abdullah and Haroon the pair of CAS, Girls U17 2×1000 winner team was Safa and Tara from CAS.
CEDAR College won Boys U21, 2×1000 by the help of Aal-e-Tahir and Akif. In Girls U21 event was been won by the CDR’s team including Marium Atif, Mirah, Marium and Manahil while KGS and NXR got second and third position respectively.
Girls U17, 4×500 event winner team (SAFA, MIRAAL, FIZZA, TARA VERA) was CAS, silver medalist team was CJM and bronze medalist was KGS.
CEDAR college team also won the boys U21, 4×500, while KGS and LYC got silver and bronze respectively.
At the end of prize distribution Chief Guest, Jamshed Qureshi President of Karachi Boat Club distributed the prize among the winners and runners up. —- Images: Muhammad Sadiq Padela
