Karachi – Pakistan, Feb 10, 2013: Hyderabad Champions defeated Karachi Tigers by 3-0 and won 1st Syed Waqar Hussain Memorial Sindh Sepaktakraw Championship. Eight Teams Participated in this Tournament. Arsalan Saeed declared as best Player of tournament. Sh. M. Shakil, Syed Asghar Hussain and Abrar Ahmed were Referees of the Tournament. Opening Ceremony was inaugurated by Director Sports Sindh Shahid Abdul Salam.
In his opening speech he said Sepaktakraw is a good Game and he Congratulate the Organizing Committee of Tournament for their hard efforts to make this tournament Successful.
After the end of Final, Guest of Honor DSM Warid Telecom’s Umar Darr, Athlete Naseem Hameed, Ex. Olympian Sameer Hussain, Secretary Sind Olympic Association Ahmed Ali Rajput Presented Trophies and Shields among Players & Officials.
This Prestigious event was presided by Syed Ishtar Ali.DSP Ejazuddin, Shabbir Ahmed, Syed Asif Ali, Muhammad Salim, Aniq ur Rehman, Azmat Ali, Asrar Husain Abdali, Ayaz Bakza, and Dr. M Arif Hafeez were also present.
Pakistan Sepaktakraw Federation Secretary Noushad Ahmed said Players done a great job and they will play well in International event. Guest of honor Umar Darr said this is a new game and we should encourage it. Ahmed Ali Rajput said we always encourage new games at the Platform of Sind Olympic Association. Naseem Hameed said Games are healthy activity of our youth. We should encourage them.
In the end Tournament Director Dr. M Arif Hafeez thanks to all the Honorable Guests and Players and Shows hope that in Future they continue to arrange these Events.
