Karachi, Feb 3, 2018: Pakistan Scrabble Association lived up to their reputation by organizing yet another record breaking tournament. The Horlicks 19th Inter School Scrabble Championship turned out to be the largest scrabble tournament in the world with around 1780 participants. The previous record also belonged to PSA when 1394 players turned up for the 18th edition of the inter school championship last year.
BVS Parsi School stole the limelight on the first day by bagging 7 of the 15 positions on offer, with Arts and Science Academy bagging 4 and Happy Home School following suit with 2.
5 of the 10 age categories were played on Saturday amidst an atmosphere of competition and camaraderie that was an exhibition of the potential that our youth holds.
The zeal and zest could be witnessed at the end of each round with winning players jumping with joy whereas those not so fortunate at times enveloped with tears and anguish, reflecting the genuine interest of the players in the game.
In a break from the past events, the top 10 players of each category were acknowledged with medals with the top three getting trophies.
