The introductory presentation given by AGU President Abdul Rahman Al-Shatri (QAT) was followed by reports from the regional and technical presidents and the president of the Gymnastics for All Committee before congressists turned to financial matters. A unanimous decision was taken to increase membership fees for the year 2013 to 150 USD for associated and to 300 USD for affiliated federations.

AGU Technical Manager Mr Anis Soud gave a brief overview of the 2011 Development Project, informing those present that the number of participating federations continues to grow, with numbers soaring to eighteen as opposed to eleven the previous year. President Al Shathri urges all federations to send coaches, gymnasts and judges to the training camps held under the AGU Development Project.

Norbert Bueche (SUI), FIG Statutes Commission member, then gave a summary of the revised FIG Statutes, after which the Congress unanimously approved proposed modifications to the AGU Statutes, to be submitted to FIG for approval and entering in force in January 2013.

Following an award ceremony for former members of the AGU authorities, FIG President Grandi and AGU President Al Shathri were recognized by AGU Honorary President Ms Lola Karimova-Tillyaeva for the role they played in supporting Gymnastics worldwide and in Asia.

After presentations from the upcoming Asian Championships organising committees and the Asian Gymnaestrada*, AGU candidates in the elections to be held at the 79th FIG Congress in Cancun (MEX) on October 25 – 27 had an opportunity to introduce themselves.
