Athlete Profile – Farah Ann Abdul Hadi (Malaysia)

TOKYO (JPN), FIG Office, October 4, 2011: Malaysian gymnast Farah Ann Abdul Hadi began training at the age of three. Now at seventeen years of age she has represented Malaysia numerous times both within Asia and in international competitions. She has won medals in several national level competitions and abroad. Her biggest competition to date was the Commonwealth Games held in Delhi (IND) last year, where she helped her team finish fourth in the Team competition.

Abdul Hadi loves gymnastics and loves travelling to exciting places for competitions; meeting fellow gymnasts from all over the world is meaningful to her. She is the only gymnast being sent to represent Malaysia at the World Championships and feels very proud to have been chosen. Her fellow team-mate Tracie Ang, who had initially been selected, was forced to withdraw due to injury.

Abdul Hadi wants to make her country proud; and though she travels alone this time, there is no doubt in her mind that family and friends back home will be showing their support.
As a member of the elite Artistic Gymnastics Team of Malaysia, Abdul Hadi Farah Ann’s ultimate dream is to qualify and compete at the Olympic Games.
