Nadine Ayman Shahin picked up

Pretoria – South Africa, Apr 12, 2014: Egyptian teenager Nadine Ayman Shahin picked up her second Women’s Squash Association World Tour title in a row when she beat Nouran El Torky in a surprise all-Egyptian final of the Women’s NSA Open in Pretoria in South Africa.

The 16-year-old from Cairo made her breakthrough in the quarter-finals of the WSA Tour 5 squash event at Pretoria Country Club when she upset Kylie Lindsay, the third seed from New Zealander who is almost twice her age, in five games.

The No2 seed Lisa Aitken was Shahin’s victim in the semi-finals as the youngster proceeded to make the third Tour final of her brief career to date.

El Torky, an unseeded 21-year-old from Alexandria, produced the biggest upset of them all in the semi-finals when she ousted top seed and fellow Egyptian Salma Hany Ibrahim in an 81 minute marathon.

The final was a 40-minute affair which went the full distance – world No71 Shahin (pictured above with men’s champion Tom Ford) recovering from a game down to beat El Torky 9-11, 11-7, 11-6, 12-14, 11-5 to put herself on the winner’s podium for the second time in less than a month.
