Central wins General Trophy of Sindh Games

Karachi – Pakistan, Mar 6, 2014: according to the Sindh Olympic Association, the Central Region won the General Trophy of Sindh Olympic Games 2014 with the points 1710 while the South Region secured 2nd position with 1080 points and West Region secured 3rd position with the 887 points.

Final Ranking are as under:

1. 1st Position: Central Region 1710 points

2. 2nd Position: South Region 1080 points

3. 3rd Position: West Region 887 Points

4. 4th Position: East Region 759 points

The Central Region won the disciplines i.e. Athletics, Badminton, Cycling, Handball, Hockey, Judo, Table Tennis, Volleyball & Wrestling, and South Region won the Boxing, Gymnastic & Football events. The West Region won Taekwondo & Swimming events while the East Region won the Basketball & Weightlifting events.

Ayan Asif (Swimming) of South Region declared the Best player of Sindh Olympic Games 2014 and he got the 60 points.

Mehtabuddin Chawla, President, Karachi Olympic Association was the chief Guest in Closing ceremony and distributed the Trophies, Shield & Certificates among the successful teams/ players. Dr. Javed Yousuf Qamar, Chairman Organising Committee, Mudassar Arain, Secretary, SOA, Saleem Paracha Org. Secretary and other dignities were also present on the occasion.

In closing ceremony, the Sindh Olympic Association announced the Gold Medal for Shahid Khan Afidi for his outstanding performance and reception will arrange shortly.
