4th National Junior U-21 Snooker Championships-2012, Lahore

Report: Abdul Rahim and Photos: Raheel Khan, The Olympics Sports. Karachi-Pakistan Jan 12, 2012: The 4th National Junior Snooker Championships-2012, Lahore is being organized by the Pakistan Billiards & Snooker Association (PBSA) in collaboration with the Imran Shahzad Snooker & Coaching Center, Lahore.

This was disclosed by the Alamgir Shaikh President, Pakistan Billiards & Snooker Association, in a Press Conference which was held at Karachi gymkhana. This national event is being sponsored by the Jubilee General Insurance Company and Jubilee Life Insurance Company.

Total 24 participants will take part in the event while 06 players from four province of Pakistan. At this occasion Javed Ahmed, Tahir Ahmed and Ali Rahim were also present and Karachi Gymkhana president Ali Rahim also spoke on the occasion.

Following is the Group of the Participants: 

Group: `A`:

Ali Dara (Punjab), Aamir (Balochistan), 3-IV1ohammad Shoaib Ahsan (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), 4-Saif Raloch (Balochistan), Hamid Chiddi (Punjab).

Group: `B`:

Khizar Aziz (Sindh), Asad 7.ubair (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), Saddam (Balochistan), Mian Oaiser (Punjab), Rameez Aftab (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), Murtaza Iqbal (Sindh).

Group: `C`:

Aakash Rafique (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), Shahzaib Khan (Sindh), Abdul Rahim (Punjab), Mehdi (Balochistan), Fahad Khan (Sindh), Mohammad Kashif (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa).

Group: `D`:

Junaid (Ealochistan), M. Majid (Punjab), Ghavish Khan (Sindh), Ali Haider (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), Junald Hassan (Punjab), Said Mohammad (Balochistan).

CHAMPIONSHIP’S PRIZE MONEY:

 Winner PKR 40,000/=

 Runners Up PKR 20,000/=

 Semi Finalist PKR 10,000/= each

 Quarter Finalist PKR 5000/= each

 Highest Break (60 and) Above: PKR 5000/=

 Total Amount: 105000/=

PARTICIPATION:

 24 Players from four provinces of Pakistan (06 players from each province)

FORMAT OF PLAY:

 24 players divided into 04 groups (06 players in each group)

 02 players from each group will qualify for the quarter finals

 Qualifying rounds will be best of 05 frames

 Quarterfinals & Semi Finals will be best of 07 frames

 Final will be best of 09 frames

ELIGIBILITY:

 02 finalists of this 4th Jubilee Insurance Pakistan National Junior U-21 Snooker Championships-2012 will qualify to represent Pakistan in the forthcoming 13th Asian U-21 Snooker Championships-2012, scheduled to be held at Goa, India from April 02-09, 2012. (If availability of funds).

NOTE:

PBSA will retain top 08 players after the Del monte 4th ranking snooker cup 2012 for the nationals of 2013.

Pakistan players will undergo coaching on the following dates of coaching classes:

1st Course: 20 February to 16 March 2012

2nd Course: 19 March 13 April 2012

3rd Course: 09 July to 10 August 2012

4th Course: 14 August 07 September 2012
