IMMAF to show MMA World Champs highlights on sports channel network in UK

Monaco, October 21, 2019: The International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) has signed a broadcast deal with Sports Channel Network (SCN) for the post-event highlights programme from the 2019 IMMAF | WMMAA World Championships of Amateur MMA which takes place in Bahrain from 11-16 November (sports channel network UK).

Sports Channel Network is free to air in the United Kingdom on Freeview, YouView (Channel 266) and the SCN App.

As well as showing the highlight programme, SCN will be using pre-recorded short form video content on social media to help promote IMMAF and its flagship event, in the lead up to the competition (sports channel network UK).

Paul Coster, Founder and CEO of SCN said:

“We are thrilled to be able to partner with IMMAF, who are the world governing body for a sport that is growing dramatically and is especially appealing to young people.

I delighted that IMMAF has seen the benefit of a partnership approach and that both IMMAF and SCN will be promoting this content via their own PR and Marketing channels.

This approach is what makes SCN different to other free to air channels in the UK.”

Kerrith Brown, President of IMMAF said:

“Although we are the World Governing Body of amateur MMA, the UK is one of our major markets and our promotion strategy aims to leverage local appeal to grow globally.

This agreement not only gives amateur mixed martial arts free to air reach in the UK but SCN also committed to using their own resources to promote our sport.

IMMAF can benefit from ad sales on SCN, which is a new revenue stream, and benefit from data analysis of who is watching our content.”

Sports Channel Network (SCN) is a UK based free to air sports channel available on Freeview and YouView Channel 266.

It is an on-demand channel, not a linear broadcaster, meaning all content is delivered via IP in an OTT environment supported by advertising which requires no login or subscription.

Since launch at the end of 2017 SCN has built up a catalogue of over 1000 hrs of premium content from 30+ content partners in 20 categories hosting premium finished programming from the likes of partners including FIBA, Formula E, FIH, ASO, IMG and Sunset & Vine.

We currently showing, exclusively, a new documentary called HEAD ON about the topical issue of head injuries in rugby and also given the opportunity to show the full highlights programme of Eliud Kipchoge’s historic sub-2 hour marathon run in Vienna last Saturday.

SCN is a digital platform meaning it can report with great accuracy on both the audience and programming analytics.
