Miami, July 13, 2016: The Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) unveiled today the official Nike match ball for the ninth edition of Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League.
The Champions League, featuring 24 top club teams representing twelve countries around the CONCACAF region, will kick off on Tuesday, August 2, with games in Trinidad & Tobago and Mexico, featuring Nike’s latest football innovation, the Nike Ordem 4.
Developed for elite footballers, the Ordem 4 has been refined around three key elements: construction, material and graphics. The geometric 12 panel fuse-welded construction employs a new 3D printed ink technique.
Finally, the ball’s graphics follow the design principle of “Flow Motion,” applying a luminescence that ensures excellent visibility while the ball is in play.
The CONCACAF region’s best clubs and players will now compete with the fluorescent orange, pink and yellow ball, joining players around the world from leagues set to also utilize the new Nike match ball, including the English Premier League, Spanish La Liga, and Italian Serie A.
The Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League is the annual club championship for the North and Central America and Caribbean region.
The 2016/17 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League, disputed from August 2016 – April 2017, will qualify its champion directly to the FIFA Club World Cup 2017.
Club America is the defending champion and will represent the Confederation later this year, in the FIFA Club World Cup Japan 2016. —- CONCACAF
