Kuala Lumpur – Malaysia, Sept 6, 2012: The media accreditation process for the AFC Asian Cup Australia 2015 preliminary draw and logo launch is now open. The accreditation window will close on October 5, 2012.
Twenty teams will be drawn into five groups of four teams each. The qualifiers will be played from February 6, 2013, to March 5, 2014. The top two teams in each group and the best third-placed team among all the groups will qualify for the tournament proper to be played in Australia in January 2015.
Following the AFC Asian Cup Organising Committee meeting (starting 9am), a press conference will be held at 1115 am at the Sofitel Hotel, Melbourne, on October 9, 2012. The draw and the logo launch will also take place at the Sofitel Hotel at 6pm on the same day.
