San Jose – Costa Rica, Apr 05, 2014: Hina Sugita of Japan was confirmed as the best player at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Costa Rica 2014 after the official awards were announced.
Hina Sugita won the adidas Golden Ball, which is awarded to the best player as determined by members of the FIFA Technical Study Group. Yui Hasegawa, also of Japan, and Pilar Garrote from Spain came second and third respectively.
The adidas Golden Boot was jointly awarded to fellow teammates from Venezuela, strikers Deyna Castellanos and Gabriela Garcia, each with six goals and three assists. Adidas Golden Ball winner Hina Sugita won the Bronze Boot with five goals and two assists.
Japan goalkeeper Mamiko Matsumoto collected the adidas Golden Glove while World Cup champion’s Japan took the FIFA Fair Play Trophy.

The Golden Boot will be awarded to the player who scores the most goals in the final competition. If two or more players score the same number of goals, the number of assists (as determined by members of the FIFA Technical Study Group) will be decisive. If two or more players are still equal the player playing fewer minutes will be ranked first.
