AFC ” C ” Certificate Football Coaching Course-2011 concluded at today

Lahore-Pakistan, Jan 12, 2012: AFC C Certificate Football Coaching Course, PFF Vision 2020 Plan, which the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has unveiled on 21 June 2008 PFF Congress, will take Pakistan to new height. This ambitious plan will create pavement to PFF in earning berth in top 15 Asian teams as well earning tickets of World Cup, Olympics and FIFA age-limit competitions in coming decade. But all the coaches had to work harder along with coming coaches to make it reality.”

This is stated by PFF’s Director Development & Competition Wing Cmdr ® Pervaiz Saeed Mir as chief guest during closing ceremony of AFC C-Certificate Football Coaching Course held at Jinnah Sports Complex Islamabad on Thursday.

According to the press release issued here by PFF, meanwhile, in his message, PFF’s President Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat has urged the coaches to acquire technical know-how and work harder for the promotion of football in the country. Makhdoom added there should be free and frank discussion so that the coaches would be able to share each other’s ideas.

He lamented that the coaches should be impartial and implement their knowledge practically on the ground. It is unfeasible to make progress without coaching. Therefore, the coaches must have the ability to watch and scrutinize the strong and weak points of the players while selecting national/regional teams. “I hope this course will hone the skill of the coaches,” he added.

“It’s now easier than ever to become a qualified football coach. By getting on the coaching ladder, individuals have the opportunity to progress through the various AFC Coaching qualifications while constantly enhancing their skills and knowledge. To be successful as a coach one should always be open to new ideas,” stated by AFC Instructor Sheikh Siddique who was assisted by Assistant Course Instructor Shahzad Anwar, Referee instructor Salah-ud-Din and Course Coordinator Muhammad Zaman Khan.

“For 15 days, twenty-three aspiring coaches from various parts of Pakistan, who had taken the ‘D’ License earlier, went through the grind of theory and practical lessons to earn the ‘C’ License, which would give them the right to coach any team. And as the participants realized, this ‘License’ neither comes easy nor to everyone but only to the discerning, considering that coaches are the pillars on which a football development program rests.

Unless football talents are nurtured on the right lines, the standard of the game will never rise and that is where teaching the game in a systematic manner gains importance. The various ‘license’ courses that FIFA/AFC has introduced the world over through the different confederations aim at this aspect,’ added Mir.

The participants were; Saquib Omer, Farooq Nazir, Abdul Waseem, Sajjad Hafeez, Syed Hassan Abbas Jafri, Syed Mudassar Sabir, Muhammad Khan, Junaid Muhammad Khan, Faisal Javed, Muhammad Jamil, Waris Khan, Johar Ali, Muhammad Noman, Muhammad Ramzan, Sohail Imran, Mahmood Akram, Zafarullah Zafri, Dilshad Ali, Ari Masih, Ayyaz Mahmood Butt, Khuda Bux, Ghulam Shabbir and Zahid Qureshi.

The AFC ‘C’ Certificate Coaching course aims at training coaches and developing their basic techniques and skills in football. It is designed to teach the coaches to organise, direct and conduct basic coaching practices targeting especially young players. The course lasts 13 days and requires a minimum of 85 hours of study time for both the practical and theoretical sessions.

In the final examination, students will be assessed on their practical coaching abilities, knowledge of the laws of the game, in addition to learning and understanding of the theory contents of football.
