Miami, May 18, 2017: The Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) reminds media that the accreditation process for the 2017 Gold Cup is open. The 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup kicks off on Friday, July 7 — 50 days from today.
All media members wishing to attend matches should be aware of the upcoming deadlines and accreditation process. Application volumes are high, and late applications for the tournament and/or specific matches will have a lower chance of success.
Media members not already registered with CONCACAF can begin the accreditation process by registering in the CONCACAF Media Center. Once approved for the CONCACAF Media Center, approved users will be able to apply for the Gold Cup.
Once the approval confirmation for Gold Cup has been received, users will be able to apply for the specific match days they wish to cover.
The deadline to apply for the Gold Cup (once approved for the Media Center) is Friday, June 30th, 2017.
Users who are not currently registered in the Media Center will need to submit their application no later than Sunday, June 18, 2017, to ensure they meet the Gold Cup application deadline.
A minimum of ten (10) business days are required for processing a Media Center application. For this reason, media are urged to begin the process as early as possible.
The application process for each individual Gold Cup match day will close 24 hours before each match.
Knockout round matches (Quarterfinals, Semifinals and the Final) will open once the participating teams have been confirmed.
A tutorial on the Media Center registration process is available here.
Accreditation Process Deadlines
CONCACAF Media Center: June 18, 2017 (for Gold Cup applications)
Gold Cup Accreditation: June 30, 2017 (for the tournament only)
Gold Cup Media Match Ticketing: On-going/Space available basis (registration will close at 24 hours before the match in question)
Please note that an approval for the Media Center or Gold Cup tournament does not grant access to a match. A match day approval and media ticket will be required for stadium access.
Media members who completed a Media Center application for a CONCACAF event/tournament in 2017 and were approved will be able to use the same username and password to apply for the Gold Cup.
Applicants are advised to add MediaCenter@concacaf.org to their address book and check junk mail and/or spam folders to assure a response.
As always, NO WALK-UP CREDENTIALS WILL BE ISSUED TO MEDIA AT ANY VENUE. Please do not come to the stadium planning to perform a media function without prior confirmation of approval of accreditation application. —- CONCACAF
