UAE’s off-spinner underwent remedial work and further testing and is now free to resume bowling at international level. The International Cricket Council today announced that the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed, that following significant remedial work and a home board assessment, the bowling action of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) off-spinner Vikrant Shetty is found to be legal and, as such, the player can resume bowling in international cricket. Shetty has undergone remedial work at the ICC Global Cricket Academy (GCA) under the supervision of head coaches Dayle Hadlee and Mudassar Nazar.
The 27-year-old was reported at the beginning of October 2011 after the end of UAE’s match against Afghanistan in the ICC Intercontinental Cup 2011-2013. He was reported by on-field umpires Ahsan Raza of the Emirates International Panel of ICC Umpires and Buddhi Pradhan of the ICC Associates and Affiliates Umpires’ Panel, along with third umpire Iftikhar Ali of the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB). Shetty was then assessed by Hadlee and Mudassar, in the wake of which Shetty was suspended from bowling in international cricket and underwent significant remedial work to modify his action.
