Dubai, March 16, 2012: ICC Chief Executive Haroon Lorgat today congratulated Indian batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar for scoring his 100th international century. In his message, Mr Lorgat said: “On behalf of every cricket fan around the globe I congratulate Sachin on becoming the first person to score 100 centuries for his country. This is indeed a magnificent feat and not likely to be easily emulated.
“Fans have admired Sachin for more than twenty years and have recently waited with great expectation for his 100th international century. “The number 100 is special for a batsman and to record 100 centuries for your country is a massive statement.
“Like millions of others I have personally followed his career ever since he first played for India as a gifted 16-year-old and now, more than two decades later, his passion and personal records, which include more than 33,000 runs at international level, is a modern day wonder.
“He is a marvel to cricket lovers around the world and with an array of batting records, Sachin is a true role model who will undoubtedly hold a special place in cricket’s history” said Mr Lorgat.
ICC President Sharad Pawar has congratulated India’s cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar on completing a century of international centuries.
In his congratulatory message, Mr Pawar said: “My heartiest congratulations to you on reaching the 100th international century. You have made India and the game of cricket proud in accomplishing this milestone.
“Your achievement speaks volume of your dedication to this great game. I am sure your illustrious career will be written in golden letters in the history of cricket and will serve as beacon of inspiration for many generations of cricketers to follow.
“My best wishes to you and hope you will continue to chase your dreams in the times to come.”
