Match officials announced for Pepsi ICC WCL

Dubai, August 29, 2012: The International Cricket Council (ICC) today announced the team of match officials for the upcoming Pepsi ICC World Cricket League (WCL) Division 4 in Malaysia, which includes Ranmore Martinesz of the Emirates International Panel of ICC Umpires.

Martinesz will be part of a team of officials from a wide-range of countries who will be officiating in the week-long tournament, which begins on 3 September. During his time with the match officials, Martinesz will also be acting as a mentor and helping to educate and guide the umpires throughout the tournament, as part of an ongoing ICC initiative for umpires development outside the Full Members.

The umpires standing in WCL Div. 4 are:

Sameer Bandekar (USA)

Sri Ganesh (Singapore)

V Kalidas (Malaysia)

Wynand Louw (Namibia)

Ranmore Martinesz (Sri Lanka)

Durga Subedi (Nepal)

AK Rana (Thailand)

David Jukes of England will be the referee for the tournament, which is taking place across three grounds in Kuala Lumpur – Kinrara Oval, Selangor Turf Club and Bayuemas Oval. These venues were also used for the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup which was held in Malaysia in 2008.

The finalists of the event will be promoted to the Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Division 3 which will be staged in Bermuda from 28 April to 5 May 2013. —- ICC
