Germany, Mar 31, 2015: The Media Accreditation process for EuroBasket Women 2015 in Hungary and Romania, 11-28 June, is now open. Media representatives wishing to apply for credentials can do so online, through the FIBA Media Portal
The deadline for submitting applications is 30 May. Confirmations to successful applicants will be sent by that day.
Media who have not previously registered with the Portal will need to create a profile before completing their application.
Creating a profile or logging on to a previous existing account is not an application in itself; applicants are required to complete all steps and complete all required fields.
A proper and valid, electronic version of a portrait photo (headshot) of the applicant must be uploaded during the procedure. Applications that do not include a proper and valid photo will not be considered.
In order to be considered for media credentials, an applicant must represent a bona fide media organisation that produces and publishes original content.
Applications for media credentials by club representatives; agents; book or educational booklet authors; fan bloggers; or media that do not produce original content based on the general news gathering criteria will not be considered.
Freelancers (writers, photographers and videographers) may be requested to prove that they are on assignment with a media outlet in order to be considered for credentials.
Credentials will be awarded on the basis of the professional history of the applying media, relevance to the event and basketball in general, as well as space availability in the different venues.
Applicants will be able to pre-book accommodation at the designated Media Hotels in every venue on a first come first serve basis. A full hotel reservation will be confirmed upon approval of the applicant’s accreditation for the event.
Organisations that may require a big number of accreditations (e.g. rights-holding media) are required to send an email to media-europe@fiba.com to discuss the use of a corporate user’s account.
