GCC & Yemen RADO meets in Kuwait

Kuwait, Nov 3, 2013: The 11th GCC & Yemen RADO Board meeting for the Regional Anti-Doping Organization and 2nd Education Sub Commission meeting were held in the Kuwait Movenpick Hotel under the Patronage of H.E. Faisal Al Jazzaf, Chairman – Director General of Public Authority for Youth & Sport (PAYS) and in cooperation with the Olympic Council of Asia and World Anti-Doping Agency on October 26-27.

The RADO Board meeting was chaired by Dr. Sultan Al Busaidi from Oman with the objective of discussing the latest update of the commission and development of each RADO organization in the region. Dr. Naser AL-Ansari chaired the Regional Education Sub Commission meeting.

WADA was represented by Mr. Robert Koehler, Director of WADA’s Education and Program Development, and Mr. Kazuhiro Hayashi, Director of WADA Asia/Oceania Regional Office.

Dr. Mohammad AL Sayrafi, the General Manager of Qatar Anti-Doping Laboratory, briefed the members on the Qatar Anti-Doping Laboratory which will be officially opened on 1st January 2015. The lab will provide service to all member countries in the region, west Asian countries and North Africa countries.

Dr. Kamal Al Hadidi, the Chairman of West Asia Anti-Doping Organization, also attended the meeting as an observer.

Ms. Nadiah Al Shamali, Acting Manager of the Doping Control Department, and Dr. Jaffer Al-Muthafer, Manager of Protocol in OCA, also participated in the meeting from the Olympic Council of Asia.

Together with all the Board Members and WADA Delegations, the Official Website of GCC & Yemen RADO www.gsyrado.org was officially launched by H.E. Faisal Al Jazzaf, Chairman – Director General of PAYS.

Mongolia Sports Press Union awards

Mongolia-Sports-Press-Union-awards-_74057390014131Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, Nov 3, 2013: Mongolia NOC reports that the Mongolian Sports Press Union, in kind cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism, has unveiled the winners of the best sports press features contest.

Mr. B. Naranbaatar, Director of the Sports Training Bureau under the Sports Ministry, awarded prizes to five sports journalists for their outstanding work.

B. Ulziitogtokh (Five Rings newspaper), Ch. Dulguun (Sportbox TV), B. Munkhzul (National Post newspaper), A. Tumenbayar (NTV) and J. Tsetsegmaa (Sportbox) were voted the best by a jury panel and received a Ministerial Certificate with cash prize.

Mr. Ch. Otgonbaatar, President of MSPU, Ms. B. Badamgarav, new Secretary-General and other dignitaries attended this ceremony. —- OCA
