Islamabad, Feb 18, 2017: According to a press release by PJF, Pak Army and Wapda got first position in the 25th Men & 8th Women National Judo Championships 2017 respectively which were held 13-17 February at Liaquat Gymnasium, Pakistan Sports Board, Islamabad under arrangements of Pakistan Judo Federation in collaboration with Pakistan Army.
3 x Weight Categories (Men -66 Kg, +100 Kg & Women -70 Kg), were competed on closing Ceremony. Shah Hussain Shah, Army Player won +100 Kg from WAPDA.
Closing Ceremony of the Championships commenced on 18th February 2017. Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada, Federal Minister for Inter Provincial Coordination graced the occasion as Chief Guest. H.E. Takashi Kurai, Ambassador of Japan also accompanied the Chief Guest as Guest of Honour, and Brig. Ghulam Jilani, Director Army Sports, Col. (Retd) Rana Shujaat Ali, Vice President JUA, Col. Junaid Alam, TI (M), President Pakistan Judo Federation were also present during the Ceremony.
H.E. Takashi Kurai, Ambassador of Japan handed over the Mats to Col. Junaid Alam, TI (M), President Pakistan Judo Federation.
Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada, Federal Minister for Inter Provincial Coordination, Chief Guest & H.E. Takashi Kurai, Ambassador of Japan, Guest of Honour presented souvenirs to Officials & awarded trophies to Winner, Runner-up and 3rd Position Male & Female Teams.
