Extensive TV Coverage for World Combat Games‏

St. Petersburg, Oct 20, 2013: Extensive, The 2013 SportAccord World Combat Games will reach fans worldwide thanks to extensive TV coverage that will include live broadcast from 18 channels in Latin America, Canada, USA, China, Russia, Malaysia, Romania and the Pan-Middle East.

11 of these channels belong to the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU), an official broadcaster of the Combat Games. Dr. Javad Mottaghi, Secretary-General of the ABU said today that he is delighted that the ABU is able to join with Marius Vizer, President of SportAccord and the International Judo Federation, in helping to deliver the spectacular action and exciting television coverage of the 2013 World Combat Games.

“We at the ABU are looking forward to working with President Vizer, the World Combat Games organisers and IEC in Sport to help deliver this event to the broadest television audience possible. We also look forward to helping future World Combat Games reach their full potential”.

Universal Sports Network, owned by NBC, will also be broadcasting the Games to 40 million households in the USA. France will be broadcasting the Games on three different platforms, including highlights on Canal +. In addition, there will be daily highlights on nine media channels in countries such as Japan, Ukraine, France, Hong Kong and Croatia. J-Sports Japan as well as DD Sports India, the largest broadcaster in the world (based on viewers), will air daily highlights of the Games post-event.

In order to provide the best experience for viewers, Fight Network will provide professional commentators for the entire event. IEC/S5 will be managing the YouTube portal for the Games and the PPTV, the ‘YouTube’ of China with 29 million daily viewers and 220 million subscribers.
