UEFA Media Release: The draw for the play-off matches for UEFA EURO Football 2012 will take place on Thursday 13 October 2011 at 13:00 CET at the Sheraton Hotel in Krakow, Poland. The draw ceremony will be conducted by UEFA General Secretary Gianni Infantino and Zbigniew Boniek, one of the Ambassadors for the tournament. The nine group winners and the best runners-up will qualify directly for the final tournament, while the eight remaining runners-up will participate in the play-offs of the UEFA European Football Championship.
The eight participants will be divided in two pots with 4 seeded and 4 unseeded teams in accordance with their national team coefficients established at the conclusion of the group stage.
The draw will define the four pairings as well as the order of the home-and-away ties. The first leg will be played on 11 or 12 November 2011, the return legs on 15 November 2011. Media representatives wishing to attend this event are kindly requested to apply via email to fame_accreditations@uefa.ch mentioning in the subject field: EURO 2012 play-off draw. Media representatives should also mention if they would like to attend the event in any case or only if a specific team takes part.
The deadline for media requests is Monday 10 October midday.
The draw will be transmitted live on Eurosport and UEFA.com, and a Video News Release will be made available on the EBU world feed shortly after completion of the event.
