Media Accreditation Process Open for the Scotiabank Champions League 2016/17

Miami, July 20, 2016: The Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) informs media that the accreditation process for the Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League 2016/17 is open to all media.

Media members wishing to attend games should be aware of the upcoming deadlines and annual accreditation process, now open.

Media members can begin the accreditation process for all venues by registering in the CONCACAF Media Channel.

Once approved for the CONCACAF Media Channel, media members will automatically be able select the Champions League matches they wish to attend in coming weeks. Applications for additional match weeks will be made available in the CONCACAF Media Channel as the calendar progresses.

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis throughout the Champions League season, but media members should allow a minimum of three full business days for processing of their CONCACAF Media Channel applications, meaning applications for any group stage match must be submitted at the latest by midnight ET the Thursday before the match week to assure timely processing.

All Media Channel Applications will be evaluated individually. A confirmation will be generated to confirm the submission of the application, and a second confirmation will be issued upon approval.

As always, NO WALK-UP CREDENTIALS WILL BE ISSUED TO MEDIA AT ANY VENUE. Please do not come to the stadium planning to perform a media function without prior confirmation of approval of accreditation application.

Please take note that the media rights for radio broadcast for any and all matches of the Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League 2016/17, in their entirety, are exclusively owned and managed by CONCACAF.

Radio stations and other enterprises interested in broadcasting the Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League, by radio, Internet or other media, should contact media@concacaf.org for information on licensing and rights fees in the local market. Note that under no circumstances are broadcast rights sold or negotiated at the stadium or on game day.

No live broadcast may occur from any stadium hosting the Champions League, before or during the course of the match, without first obtaining the appropriate rights from CONCACAF or its designee.

Violation of rights policy constitutes a serious infringement of the Media Guidelines for a CONCACAF event. Any accredited media member found to be in violation of this policy at the stadium will have the accreditation cancelled.
