Poland, May 4, 2014: The match between Sweden and Switzerland was expected to be a more even and exciting match than in the end was the fact. The higher ranked Slovakia was on beforehand favourite to win against Hungary and also took a slight grip of the happenings in the beginning of the match.

The Swedish didn’t give the Swiss any chance to even control the ball, they let the ball work and took every opportunity to shoot, making the Swiss defence really struggle in front of their own goal. The Swedish goal scoring machine showed its efficiency giving them a 6-1 lead after the first period.
The Swiss came well into the game in the 2nd period partly due to the fact that the Swedes didn’t press as hard and high as in the 1st period.
Team Switzerland was able to play some controlled attacks, but was still only able to score on their fast attacks. The 2nd period ended 1-1.
In the 3rd period Team Sweden continued to dominate the play in both speed and skill. The Swiss defence was able to avoid a total disaster when the Swedes started to slow down.

Hungary got a power play opportunity but even though they played quite well they did not score.
After having cleared the box play Slovakia took a firmer grip of the match and therefore it was a bit surprising when Hungary took the lead at 14:09, the goal scored by Barbara Takacs.
Team Slovakia replied almost immediately when Daniela Kvaskova equalized less than 30 seconds later and before the period ended Miriam Bukova scored 2-1 for Slovakia.
In the second period the Slovakians really got the machine going and scored two early goals to a 4-1 lead before Hungary short handedly scored their second goal and kept the hope up for a while.
