Pakistan Wapda rules as Ist, Army 2nd and Railway got 3rd in 21st National Judo-2011

The Pakistan Wapda rules continued to rule the roost by lifting the winners trophy for 6th consecutive occasion, Pakistan Army claimed the runners-up title while Pakistan Railway were awarded the third-play trophy as the 21st Senior, 2nd Junior and 3rd Inter-provincial National Judo Championship-2011 ended peacefully with a colorful ceremony here at the Qayyum Sports Complex on Sunday.

Featuring around 200 athletes and officials from across the country, an impressive closing ceremony brought the biggest national sporting gala to an end with Pakistan Wapda clinching the overall first position securing 128 points. Pakistan Army (81 points) obtained the second position overall in the week-long extravaganza while the third spot went to Pakistan Railway with 57 points.

In all, the Pakistan Wapda grabbed 09 medals, including 08 gold, and 01 bronze medals, followed by Pakistan Army with 08 medals (02 gold, 03 silver and 03 bronze) and Pakistan Railway with 08 medals (03 silver and 05 bronze).

The closing ceremony was graced by the Col. Rana Shujaat Ali , President of Pakistan Judo Federation; Rifaqat Ullah Baber, Vice President of Pakistan Judo federation; Syed Aaqil Shah, President of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Olympic Association & Minister of Sports; Syed Farhat Ali (Director of Sports, PAF) ; were also present at the occasion and representatives of different national sports federations and those belonging to the KP Olympic Association.

The participating contingents from Pakistan Army, PAF, Balochistan, Fata, Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Police, HEC, Punjab , Pakistan Railways and Wapda assembled at the ceremony after its formal inauguration.
Syed Aqil Shah, the chief guest, gave the Trophy to Pakistan Wapda, the overall winners.

Khyber Pakhtunkhaw Grabbed 2nd in 2nd Junior and 3rd Inter-Provincial National Judo C’ships-2011

The Pakistan Judo Federation along with a Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judo Association had organized 2nd Junior and 3rd Inter-Provincial Judo Championship-2011 in Peshawar from 27th to 30th October-2011 at Qayyum Stadium, Peshawar Cantt.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa continued to success by lifting the Runners up trophy in the said Championships-2011by having 25 Points. Featuring around 24 athletes along 08 Teams in the 2nd Junior National judo Championship-2011 in which not only four provinces participated but also FATA, Islamabad, PAF and Pakistan Railways were also included.

And  in the 3rd Inter-Provincial Judo Championship-2011, 60 athletes along 06 Teams in which other than Four Provinces FATA and Islamabad had also participated, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa grabbed the RUNNER’S UP POSITION by securing 71 points.
